    OverDrive, NetLibrary, byki, and ePrep Guides

    OverDrive Quick Start Guide:
    1. On the library's website, www.wsld.info, click the OverDrive link at the bottom of the page that says "Download Audionbooks". 
    2. From the menu on the left, under "Software Downloads", click "OverDrive Media Console". Follow the prompts to download and install the program. The program is essential for organizing, transferring, and playing back your downloads.
    3. Back at the home page, click the "Sign In" tab, then select Windsor-Severance Library District from your drop down menu. Enter your library card number (no spaces) and your PIN. If you don't have a PIN you must set one up at the circulation desk.
    4. By using the menu on the left, you can browse the site for eBooks, music, audiobooks, and videos.
    5. Each record will have a list of icons that indicate what device the file will play on.
    6. As you browse, add items you wish to your cart. If the item is currently checked out, you can place a hold by entering your e-mail address. When you're ready to download, click "My Cart" at the top of the page and then proceed to checkout.
    7. Click the "download" button for each item and then read and agree to the user agreement. You're materials should begin downloading via the OverDrive Media Console automatically.
    8. Information such as expiration dates, play duration, and format will all  be displayed within the media console. You can easily organize, playback, transfer, and burn your downloads with the console as well
    NetLibrary Quick Start Guide:
    1. On www.wsld.info, click one of the NetLibrary links at the bottom of the page.
    2. Click "Log In" if you already have an account with NetLibrary. If not, set one up for free at the circulation desk.
    3. Once you are logged in on your account, click the banner to download the NetLibrary Media Center. This is a one time download that will make all your searching and downloading easier and more efficient.
      • eBooks are books you can read online. You will need the current version of Adobe Reader. If you need to download it, there is a link to their website on NetLibrary.
      • eAudioBooks are Sound recordings that you can download and listen to, and in some cases burn to a disc or transfer to an MP3 player.
    BYKI Start Guide:
    We are excited to introduce "Before You Know It", or BYKI , a language learning database. Accessible from www.wsld.info, BYKI is a powerful interactive language learning system that uses flashcards to teach you sets of words and phrases. Currently 83 different languages are available and more will be added in the future. To get you own BYKI accout, simply follow the directions below:

    Go to www.wsld.info, and click on the "Reference" tab.
    1. Look under the "Database" heading
    2. Click on "BYKI Online" and choose a username and password
    3. Learn a new language
    ePrep Start Guide:
    The library has a new, online service called ePrep. This program is designed for students and teachers as a study guide for several of the most common standardized tests (PSAT, SAT, ACT, & PLAN). It is also a great tool for general studies. Registering is easy. Just follow the step below.
    1. Bring your library card to the circulation desk
    2. Ask a staff member to help you set up an ePrep account

      Placing Holds

      To set up a PIN, bring 
      your card to the circulation desk
      (can be 4-8 characters long)
      1. Go to www.wsld.info
      2. Search the catalog for the item you would like to request
      3. Once found, click the "request" button for that item
      4. You will be prompted to enter your bar code (no spaces) and your PIN
      5. Click "Log On"
      6. You can choose to get the first available copy (recommended) or a specific one, and then select "Submit Request"
      7. When your request becomes available you will be notified via e-mail (if you have given us your e-mail address) or by telephone.
      8. Pick up your request at the shelf to the right of the circulation desk

      Renewing Check-Outs

      1.   Go to www.wsld.info
      2. Click the "My Account" tab
      3. Type in your bar code (no spaces)
      4. Type in your PIN
      5. Click "Current Loans" to see what you have checked out. Select which one(s) you would like to renew, then click "Renew".
      Items can be renewed one time unless there are holds on it. Items the can never be renewed are:
      • Best Sellers
      • Fast Tracks
      • VHSs
      • DVDs
      • Inter-Library Loans
