How to Get a Library Card
  • Present two forms of current address; one of these items must be an official photo ID. Acceptable items are:
    • Driver's license, passport, student ID
    • First class mail addressed to you
    • Lease agreement
    • Utility Bill
    • Fishing/Hunting License
    • Car Registration
    • Insurance Card
  • Children under the age of 14 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the application and provide identification in person at the library 
  • The first library card is FREE; replacement cards cost $1.00 or key chain cards $0.50
First check out is limited to two items:
1 print and 1 media or 2 print

Library cards must be presented
to check out material and use
public computers.

Circulation Policies

  • Limit 35 items per card
  • Books: 2-week check-out with one renewal and a one week grace period
  • CD's, Magazines, Books on Tape and CD, and Kits (Limit 5): 2-week check-out with one renewal and a one week grace period
  • Computer Software and Video Games (Limit 1): 1-week check-out with no renewal and no grace period
  • Movies (DVD, VHS & BLU-RAY)(Limit 5): 1-week check-out with no renewal and no grace period; holds may be placed
  • Reel Kwik (New Movies)(Limit 1): 3 day check-out with no renewal and no grace periods or holds
  • Playaway (Limit 2): 2-week check-out with a one week grace period and no renewals
  • Fast Track (Limit 2): 5-day check-out with a $0.25 a day rental fee after that
  • Best Sellers: 2-week check-out with no grace period and no renewals
  • Inter-Library Loans (Limit 3): Date due is set by loaning library with no renewals.
Renewal of Materials
Renew most materials online at www.wsld.info or call (970) 686-5603 during library hours. $5.00 or more fines prohibits renewal of library materials.

Fines
  •  Books/Audio/Magazines/Kits: $0.10 a day
  • Inter-Library Loans/Fast Track Books: $0.25 a day
  • Movies/Software/Video Games: $1.00 a day
  • Maximum fine for each item is $10.00
Lost or Damaged Items
Patron will be charged current replacement cost for lost items. Damaged items will be assessed repair costs or current replacement cost if the item cannot be repaired.

Library Services
  • Outreach: The library offers story-times, home-bound visits, library presentations & training and special community events. Contact the Outreach Librarian for more information
  • Inter-Library Loan: Books not in our collection can be requested from another library. Call or visit the library to place a request.
  • Drive Through: A drive through window and after hours lockers, located on the east side of the building, are available to pick up materials on hold. Call ahead to arrange for these services.
  • Book Drop: A drive through drop box and two walk up book drops (one inside and one outside) are available for the return of library materials.
  • Self Check-Out/Check-In: Self check-out and check-in computers are available for your convenience; two are located near the circulation desk and one in the children's department 
  • Fast Track: A collection of new & bestselling titles is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Titles check out for 5 days, then a $0.25 per day rental fee is charged. Holds cannot be placed on these titles. Limit of two items.
  • Book Discussion Group: The Windsor Severance Library Book Club Group meets the second Monday evening of the month (Sept.-May). Children's and young adult groups meet at various times during the year. Schedules are available at the circulation desk. New members are always welcome.
  • Special Events: The library offers numerous special informational and entertaining programs and events for adults and families. Inquire in the library or on the website at www.wsld.info.
  • Conference Rooms: Conference rooms are available for meetings. Rental fees may apply. A refundable deposit is required. Please contact the library for further information.
  • Display Cases: Display cases are available at the library for special exhibits in the adult and children's departments. If you are interested in providing a display, please call the library.
  •  Public Computers: Computer use is free; print-outs must be pre-paid. Users under 18 MUST have written parent/guardian permission on file to use the internet. Policies are posted be the computers. You MUST have your library card (in good standing) with you to use the public computers
  • Copies/Printing: Self-service copies and internet or word processor print-outs cost $0.10 per page for black and white copies, $1.00 for color copies.
  • Fax Services: 
    • Send a fax: $1.00 per page excluding cover page. 
    • Receive a fax: $0.50 per page excluding cover page

 Youth Services

  • Story Times: Weekly Babies and Books (birth-2) and Wee Read (2-6) story times are offered throughout the year. A calender with times and themes is available at the circulation desk, online at www.wsld.info, and on the blog under upcoming events. A caregiver must be present for infant story time.
  • Summer Reading Program: Three distinct summer reading programs are offered:
    • Little Ones (birth to 5 years)
    • Children (5 years to 5th grade)
    • Teens (6th to 12th grade)
  • Advisory Council for Teens (ACT): ACT is a teen group comprised of 8th - 12th grade students who meet with the Head of Youth Services to consult on teen issues and to plan various teen library programs. ACT meets the first Thursday of every month at 6:00 pm.
  • Teen Book Club: Meets the first Thursday of every month during the ACT meeting
  • Special Events: Youth Services offers numerous special events including family story times, programs for both children and young adults, as well as other special activities.
