Good-bye Fast Track! Hello Lucky Day! Fast Track has been replaced with the Lucky Day collection. Lucky Day titles are available on a first-come basis and can be checked out for 2 weeks. They cannot be renewed, there is no grace period and fines of 10 cents a day will be charged if the item is overdue. Here's the best part, holds cannot be placed on any lucky day item! If you're on a holds list for the latest Paterson novel and you find a copy on the Lucky Day shelf... it's your lucky day!

You choose the next Caldecott, Newbery, and Printz medal winners!
It’s award season, and this year the Clearview Library District would like to get into the spirit by holding a mock election and allowing our patrons to cast their votes for the winners of the prestigious literary awards for children. Every year, the American Library Association awards the Caldecott Medal to the best American picture book, the Newbery Medal to the best American literature for children, and the Printz Medal to the best American literature for teens. We want our readers to tell us what their favorite books of the year were. Choose from our top picks, or suggest one of your own. You can also write a review explaining why the book was your favorite. Those who guess the winner correctly will be placed in a drawing for a prize. Prizes will also be awarded to those who write the most reviews. The award winners will be announced the week of January 20th so make your guesses soon!

Volunteer of the Month: Donna Reiser
Donna Reiser has been named December’s Volunteer of the Month at Windsor-Severance Library. Donna has volunteered for the library for 22 years! She helps at the library by checking for overdue and missing items, shelving and stamping books and doing other special projects. She says that working at the library “is fun and the staff is very friendly, outgoing and willing to help patrons.”When Donna is not helping at the library, she enjoys crossword and jigsaw puzzles, plastic canvas yarn work, reading and spending time with her family. Donna’s favorite books include: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Sarah’s Key by Tatiana de Rosnay, The Help by Kathryn Stockett, and anything by James Patterson. The library staff enjoys working with Donna because she is so cheerful, works hard and often brings cookies to share. Thank you Donna for all you do!
