On Thursday, November 3rd, Books Before Bed presented a special pajama storytime: the Stuffed Animal Sleepover. Pajama-clad children and their stuffed animals friends were first able to attend an evening storytime. The children then filled out "permission slips" for the animals to stay the night in the library. This is what happened:
After their families left for the night, some of the animals were a little frightened and sad. Ba took the lead and calmed the other animals by reading a story called Bark, George by Jules Feiffer. The animals enjoyed barking and meowing along with the book. After the story, everyone felt much better. We decided hide and seek would be a fun way to start the night. Giraffe found a great spot in the picture books, while Flower climbed to the top of the rack of book kits. Spots impressed us all by performing a flip jump and hiding in the rafters on the ceiling. Hide and seek was very exhausting so Snuffles and Flower refueled by having a tea party. Buzzy wasn’t hungry. He wanted to try his paw at Playstation, and he beat Miss Andrea at Star Wars THREE TIMES! Shiver wanted to play on the computer and really enjoyed the Dora the Explorer games. Then Spots and Ba played a game of Monopoly that lasted forever, while Shiver made a snowman and Snuffles colored a Thanksgiving apple. After that, it was time for bed. Giraffe wanted to read a bedtime story first, but Buzzy fell right asleep. In the morning we had bagels and orange juice. The animals thought the Friday morning library staff meeting was very boring. They quietly played games and read books while they patiently waited for their families. It seemed like they had a really good time. Miss Andrea certainly did.
Special thanks to Ashlyn, Aspen, Eliana, Elijah, Eliza, Ephraim, and Isabella for letting their friends stay the night at the library.
Books Before Bed is held the first Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. For more information, contact Andrea at 686-5603 or andrea@myclearview.info
